JackyJacky

Tamagochi Mode turns Jacky into a virtual pet that you need to care for. Unlike other operation modes, it's not available in the context menu — you enable it from the Settings > Features tab.

Not in the context menu: Tamagochi Mode is enabled exclusively from Settings → Features, not from the system tray right-click menu. This keeps the tray clean and avoids accidental toggles.

What does Tamagochi Mode do?

When Tamagochi Mode is active, Jacky has four stats that decay over time and need your attention:

StatEmojiDescription
Hunger🍗Decreases over time. Feed Jacky to restore it.
Happiness💖Decreases over time. Pet Jacky to restore it.
Training💪Decreases over time. Train Jacky to restore it.
Toilet🧹Decreases over time. Clean Jacky to restore it.

The Tamagochi Widget

A floating panel appears on your desktop with:

  • 4 vertical stat bars — color-coded: green (healthy), yellow (low), red (critical).
  • 3 action buttons — feed 🍗, train 💪, and clean 🧹.
  • A close button (×) — disables Tamagochi Mode entirely.

You can also pet Jacky by clicking directly on him, which boosts his happiness.

Tip

Draggable widget: You can drag the Tamagochi widget anywhere on your screen. Its position is saved and restored on next launch.

How stats work

Decay

Every 5 minutes (300 seconds), all four stats decrease by a configurable amount:

  • Default decay rate: 5 points per tick.
  • Configurable: Adjust the decay rate in Settings → Features → Tamagochi Mode → Decay Rate.

Rewards

Each care action restores +25 points to the corresponding stat (capped at 100):

ActionStat Restored+Points
FeedHunger+25
Pet (click Jacky)Happiness+25
TrainTraining+25
CleanToilet+25

Critical state

When any stat drops to 15 or below, Jacky enters a critical state:

  • His sprite changes to a sad expression.
  • He speaks a warning dialogue (e.g., "I'm starving... 😢").
  • The stat bar turns red.

How to enable it

  1. Open Jacky's Settings window.
  2. Go to the Features (Características) tab.
  3. Under Tamagochi Mode, check Activate Tamagochi Mode.
  4. The Tamagochi widget will appear on your desktop.

To disable it, either:

  • Uncheck the option in Settings, or
  • Click the × close button on the Tamagochi widget.

Resetting stats

If Jacky's stats get too low, you can instantly reset them:

  • Go to Settings → Features → Tamagochi Mode.
  • Click Reset Stats (Reiniciar Estadísticas).

All four stats will return to 100, and critical warnings will stop.

Persistence

Tamagochi stats are saved to a file (tamagochi_stats.json) and persist between sessions. When you re-enable Tamagochi Mode after disabling it, your previous stats and widget position are restored.

Mood integration

Tamagochi Mode triggers internal mood events that influence Jacky's idle behavior and dialogue variety:

  • Positive events: tama_fed, tama_petted, tama_trained, tama_cleaned — fired when you care for Jacky, making him more cheerful.
  • All-high event: tama_all_high — fired when every stat is 80+, making Jacky especially happy.
  • Low-any event: tama_low_any — fired when any stat drops to 25 or below, making Jacky more subdued.
  • Critical events: tama_critical_hunger, tama_critical_other — fired when a stat falls to 15 or below, making Jacky sad and prompting a warning dialogue.

These events feed directly into Jacky's mood system and affect how frequently he speaks, which dialogue pool he draws from, and his idle animations.
